This DVD features footage from the Norwich to Ely line, recorded between 2009 and 2012. 2012 saw the removal of the semaphore signals and closure of the signal boxes, being replaced with a modern axle counter system.
DVDs are standard definition by default, the picture quality is very good, with an up scaling DVD player near HD quality can be achieved.
See the signallers at work and the internal workings of a signal box, lineside and cab view footage included.
The DVD has backing tracks where appropriate, running commentary has been avoided as we feel this becomes an annoyance when you watch the DVD more than once. Information is provided with the occasional caption.
The DVD is are a journey from Wymondham to Shippea Hill and back to Wymondham, the footage is not chronological.
Arriving at Shippea Hill we see the closure of the signal box, followed by an atmospheric look at the traditional signalling system as we make our way back to Wymondham for the closure of the signal box there.
